"Much is Required Relief & Recovery" was founded by Jurayl D. Lomax in 2018 amidst the devastation of Hurricane Harvey. Inspired by the Bible verse Luke 12:48, which states, "For unto whomsoever much is given, of him shall be much required," Jurayl mobilized his community to coordinate evacuations, perform home rescues, and provide relief efforts. Drawing on his experience as a U.S. Air Force veteran, he demonstrated strong leadership and strategic guidance. Since then, he has organized community meetups, invested in heavy-duty equipment, and actively contributed to disaster preparation and recovery efforts during other severe storm events. The organization embodies the spirit of generosity and responsibility highlighted in this scripture.
